P2M is the Japanese Version of Project & Program Management developed by the Specific Committee led by Prof. S. Ohara by support of METI and Engineering Association Japan. TUAT had initiated the captioned lecture for leader fostering course applying P2M theory to introduce the advanced case studies and business creation methods. The course “Business Creation and Management for Environmental Industries”( headed by Dr.Hideo Kameyama, Professor TUAT Dr. Kunio Yoshide Professor Emeritus University of Tokyo, Dr. Masashi Yarime, Adjunct Professor University of Tokyo and Guset Professor TUAT. Shigenobu Ohara) intents to develop field-oriented leaders who can plan and manage actual projects and programs based on the “sustainable development” (the Earth Summit held in Rio de Janeiro in 1992). Environmental industry consist various business areas such as utilization of renewable energies, resource and energy saving, waste recovery and recycle, pollution control, etc. The realization of the low-carbon societies was the urgent argument in COP15 (Copenhagen). However, compatibility between development and environmental protection to realize the low-carbon societies is a high hurdle for the developing countries. For the leaders in environmental sectors who overcome the hurdle, this course cultivates the creation and ability to implement of the environmental businesses from the viewpoint of “Policy ~ Program ~ Project”, with harmonizing with the stakeholders. Therefore, various guest lecturers will be invited to emphasize the introduction of actual environmental businesses based on the various types of cooperation between Japan and developing countries. The conscious mind, role, and knowledge will be disclosed to the students, and the lecture is adapted to be able to understand the practical perception systematically based on the P2M (Project & Program Management) theory. For example, many actual examples will be explained as frameworks of clever integration of environmental business models and technological solutions. The characteristics of this course are as follows;
1.Actual examples in various business areas of environmental industry will be introduced.
2.Applied skills will be strengthened with improving understanding through the frameworks, knowledge, and tools of the P2M theory.
3.Clever cooperation between environmental business models and technological solutions will be intended and explained.
4.Therefore, the covering from social foundation to BOP (Bottom of Pyramid) will be possible.
